****NEW AGE GROUP RULES****

The new age group changes implemented by the North Texas Soccer Association will go into effect for the Fall 2026 season. These changes will change the age groups from birth year divisions to school year divisions. To see the division your child will be placed under review the North Texas age chart for the 2026/2027 season. To help make these changes as smooth as possible JSA has implemented two new rules that will be in effect for the Fall 2026 season only. Rule #1 - No Kid Left Behind

This exception shall apply only for the Fall 2026 season. Any player displaced from their current team as a direct result of the new age group changes implemented by the North Texas Soccer Association shall be eligible to utilize the JSA Buddy Rule (17.14). Eligible players shall include: (a) players who do not meet the age requirements to move up with their existing team, and (b) players who are required to move up to an older age group due to the new age requirements while their existing team does not move up.

A team may accept a maximum of three (3) players under this exception for the Fall 2026 season. In the event that more than three (3) eligible players request placement on the same team, or if roster size limitations restrict additional placements, available roster spots shall be awarded based upon registration date, with priority given to the earliest completed registrations. All placements shall be administered strictly on a first-come, first-served basis.

Any disputes, interpretation discrepancies, or exceptional circumstances arising under this rule shall be reviewed and resolved by the JSA Board, which reserves the right to intervene and render final determinations upon a showing of probable cause.

Rule #2 - Pure Age Division Rule

This exception shall apply only for the Fall 2026 season. In response to the age group changes, all players shall be automatically assigned to their appropriate age group based upon the current age eligibility requirements, regardless of their previous team placement, unless otherwise indicated on the player’s registration form.

Any player wishing to move up with their current team into an older age division must expressly indicate such intent during the registration process. In the absence of such indication, the player shall remain in the age group for which they are age eligible, even if their previous team advances to an older division.
